Dr Elizabeth Vaughan, MD
Dr. Vaughanhas been a licensed physician since 1979. During the first third of her medical career, she practiced Emergency Medicine in Galax, VA, Lexingon, NC, and Martinsville, VA. In 1991, she left the emergency room and opened the first urgent care ambulatory medical practice in Martinsville, VA. This quickly expanded into a thriving holistic practice. She relocated this practice to Greensboro, NC in December 2002.
She is Board Certified by the American Board of Clinical Metal Toxicology, the American Board of Emergency Medicine, and the American Board of Internal Medicine.
She graduated magna cum laude from Duke University in 1975, with Distinction in Chemistry. She earned her medical degree at the University of Virginia, graduating in 1979. She then completed a flexible internship and a residency in Internal Medicine at Southwestern Michigan Area Health Education Center in Kalamazoo, MI in 1982.

Charlie L. Abbott, AC, CMP, C.H.
Charlie is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Asian Medicine, and serves our clients at the Natural Vitality Center. He matriculated at the International Institute of Chinese Medicine in Santa Fe, NM, where he received an M. Sc degree in Asian Medicine. Charlie has been utilizing Qi (energy) exercises, herbal medicine, Body Talk System and conscious nutrition for the last 20 years. Recently, he has been invigorated by the technique of Earthing in his treatments. Charlie desires to share simple, but very effective, ways of maintaining health and vitality by utilizing energy medicine as a primary or integrative means of getting and staying well. Even in his twelfth year of service, Charlie still finds it amazing just how well Acupuncture works!

Stephanie Hein, CH
Stephanie has studied Herbalism for more than 8 years. She is a certified Clinical Herbalist, Holistic Nutritionist, Reiki Energy Healer, and Birthing Coach. She brings years of experience in treating adults, children, and pregnant women to Dr. Vaughan’s practice. Stephanie apprenticed under accomplished Herbalist, Mimi Hernandez, MS, RH (AHG), in the Appalachian Mountains and learned ethno botanical healing from the Indigenous Bri Bri people on Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast. When working with clients she strives to connect the emotional, spiritual, and physical essences through combining food, herbs, and energetic modalities. She has a complete herbal apothecary within the Natural Vitality Center. Using her expertise, she can make custom herbal tinctures, especially formulated for her clients. She is also offering Reiki Energy Healing sessions at the Natural Vitality Center.

Kathryn Setchfield
Kathryn brings to the Natural Vitality Center a wealth of customer service experience from the natural foods/supplement industry and hospitality industry. As a seeker of natural and holistic approaches, her personal take on wellness is in line with functional medicine as practiced at Vaughan Integrative Medicine. She loves sharing knowledge about holistic options that empower people to make different choices, which, in turn, give them healthier and more fulfilling lives.
Kathryn enjoys spending free time with family and friends and her loving golden retriever. Travel and exploration of the world are also an important part of Kathryn’s time away from work; she has been to eight different countries thus far and looks forward to discovering more new international treasures.
